Ergy Landau

1896 - 1967

Add to my calendar

The retrospective exhibition Ergy Landau (1896-1967) retraces for the first time the career of this Hungarian-born photographer who settled in Paris in the early 1920s

Through a hundred original and previously unpublished prints, as well as recently discovered personal archives, we follow this major figure of the mid-20th century who has nonetheless remained little known to the general public.

For more than thirty years Ergy Landau took part in the most important photographic exhibitions and collaborated on numerous publications, art books and educational works, as well as magazines for the general public.

Her most personal photographs reflect an inventiveness, a precise sense of composition, an attention to detail and a great talent for creating with light and shadow.

Curators : Kathleen Grosset, Laurence Le Guen et David Martens
